Seattle Singles Yacht Club sponsored its 12th Annual Benefit Race for Northwest Harvest Saturday, September 25th, breaking all previous records, with more than $4000 in cash and 7,500 pounds of food were donated. Doug Penny, skipper of "Tatoosh", a 40' Islander sailboat, donated the most with more than 1,000 pounds of food and $800, followed by Alan Yogt, skipper of Blue Fin, with 800 pounds of food, followed by Pogo with 640 pounds of food. More than fifty boats competed in five classes (each donating a minimum of one can of food per foot of boat length).
